The boat is freedom,
not just the means to an end.
Bernard Moitessier
The leading manufacturer of pleasure boats in Europe and second in the world, 12,000 units leave French shipyards each year and the national fleet counts 13 million boaters(Source Gouv)
However, if the passion for the Ocean and its resources guides each new sailor less than 1% of these units are recyclable. Far from being anecdotal, the marine environment is the most inhospitable and corrosive, and if the growth of shipyards is encouraging for the economy, the technology used is still not up to the challenge.
Yet new commitments, new solutions and new materials are emerging.
The "Shipyard Engaged For Ocean" label allows you to concretize this commitment by creating a strong and coherent relationship with your customers.
What are the objectives?
- Assure your customer of the concrete commitments made by your site or your brand for the preservation of the Ocean, and more broadly for the planet.
- To allow him to become an actor in this action for the Ocean, in a non-binding and voluntary approach.
- Participate in the maintenance of the ocean resource

MAKE A MUTUAL COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER
to protect the ocean and our planet
The "Shipyard Engaged For Ocean" label is an opportunity for all shipyards and brands, whether or not they share the values of ocean preservation, to make a commitment to our common future.
The idea is to propose to each customer, new sailor and witness of the Ocean to participate at a tiny level to preserve the resource he will enjoy from his boat.
From then on, the site or the brand can optionally commit to doubling the client's participation to accompany him in the process or to compensate for the refusals by paying the participation itself and thus replacing the client.
This participation represents an important source of funding for science and oceanography expeditions and is part of a mutually beneficial long-term relationship.
